Ditropan XL Tablets -- Information

Ditropan XL® (oxybutynin ER) is a prescription medicine approved to treat an overactive bladder in adults. Symptoms of this condition can include leaking accidents and frequent urination, among others.

Ditropan XL comes in the form of a once-daily tablet and belongs to a group of medications known as anticholinergics or antimuscarinics. This product also can be prescribed to treat bladder problems due to overactive bladder muscles caused by spina bifida or other neurological problems in children over the age of six.

Because the tablets are long-acting, they must be swallowed whole; they should also be taken at the same time each day. Ditropan XL is not suitable for everyone, so it's important to review the safety information for this drug with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. For example, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other health issues you may have, such as liver disease, glaucoma, or difficulty passing urine.

(Click Ditropan XL for more information about these tablets, including available strengths, generic availability, and what to do in cases of overdose.)
