Enablex and Breastfeeding

Before starting Enablex, breastfeeding women should talk to their healthcare providers about the benefits and possible risks. Animal studies show that the drug passes through breast milk in rats. However, it is not known whether Enablex is passed through breast milk in humans. Therefore, it's important that you discuss the issue with your healthcare provider before taking Enablex and breastfeeding.

At this time, it is not known whether Enablex® (darifenacin) passes through breast milk in women. The manufacturer recommends that women who are nursing use the drug with caution.
