Detrol Drug Interactions

If certain antifungals or antibiotics, protease inhibitors, or anticholinergic drugs are taken with Detrol, drug interactions can potentially occur. These interactions could increase your risk of developing side effects or affect the level of Detrol in your blood. If negative Detrol drug interactions are a concern, your healthcare provider may monitor you closely and adjust your dose of these medicines.

Detrol Drug Interactions: An Overview

Detrol® (tolterodine tartrate) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to Detrol drug interactions include:
 
  • Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor medications, such as:
 
 
  • Anticholinergic drugs, such as:
 
 
  • Certain antifungals or antibiotics, such as:
 
    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Telithromycin (Ketek®)
 
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Medications that cause an irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation (see QT-Prolonging Medications), such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Vinblastine.
