Detrol LA Drug Interactions

Anticholinergic medications, protease inhibitors, and certain antibiotics or antifungals may potentially interact with Detrol LA. Drug interactions may occur when these medicines are taken together that could lead to side effects or decreased effectiveness of the medications. Since several medications can cause Detrol LA drug interactions, make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all medicines you are taking.

Detrol LA Drug Interactions: An Overview

Detrol® LA (tolterodine ER) can potentially interact with a few other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to Detrol LA drug interactions include:
 
  • Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, such as:
 
 
  • Anticholinergic medications, such as:
 
 
  • Certain antibiotics or antifungals, such as:
 
    • Clarithromycin (Biaxin®)
    • Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
    • Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Telithromycin (Ketek®)
 
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Medications that cause an irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation (see QT-Prolonging Medications), such as:
 
 
 
 
  • Vinblastine.
